Beautiful shotgun circa 1870, with richly acid-etched plant motifs on locks, trigger guard, rocker, keys and hammers. For 16-gauge pinfire cartridges, double-barreled in table form, barrel length approx. 71.5 cm, muzzle diameter approx. 17.5 mm. Rear percussion locks signed on the right "Fé par Fd Claudin" and on the left "à Paris". Gooseneck hounds. Signed on the barrels "F p Fd Claudin à Paris" in gilded Gothic letters. Lefaucheux-type two-key locking, no play on locking. Scroll trigger guard engraved with a beehive awaiting numeral, steel buttplate. Finely checkered stock near the locks, beginning of a slit in the lower part at the shoulder. Later ebonized buttplate with MF laurel. Overall length approx. 113.5 cm. Functional mechanism. Good condition, slight corrosion, wear and patina.
