Born in Nogent-sur-Marne in 1924, Annie Proszynska lived in Nice from 1964 until her death in 2008. After attending the École des Beaux-arts in Paris, the artist turned to painting, then to engraving. She began with a pupil of Hayter, before training with Jacques Hallez in Lumigny. In the 1950s, she took part in group exhibitions at the Hamon gallery in Le Havre, then presented her work at the Salon d'Automne in Paris.
