Based on a model by Georges Jacob for the Turkish cabinet in the apartment of the Comte d'Artois at the Château de Versailles in 1781; now in the collections of the Musée du Louvre in Paris.
The "d'Artois" model was a huge success in the 19th century, and was produced by a number of Parisian manufacturers, notably Louis-Auguste-Alfred Beurdeley.
