OUR HISTORY

For more than a century, the auction house Nice Enchères has been part of the city’s heritage.

This historic firm of the city of Nice combines a long-standing passion for art with a strong commitment to its role as Public Ministerial Officers.

As a result, our mission is clear: to create and guarantee the essential conditions for fair and transparent auctions.

A LANDMARK INSTITUTION ON THE FRENCH RIVIERA

Steeped in history, our auction house is deeply rooted in the social fabric of Nice. Both family-run and accessible, the firm is conceived as a place of opportunity, recognized by art lovers, collectors, and professionals alike for the quality of the sales it has organized and continues to offer, as well as for its regular weekly auctions. All this takes place in an exceptional setting, in the heart of the French Riviera, just steps away from the iconic Promenade des Anglais.

PUBLIC MINISTERIAL OFFICERS

In France, Judicial Auctioneers (Commissaires-Priseurs Judiciaires) are Public Ministerial Officers who, as holders of a state appointment, carry out a public service mission.

With regard to judicial sales, they hold exclusive authority—alongside other public or ministerial officers and legally authorized persons—to organize and conduct judicial public auctions of movable property, as well as to carry out the related inventories and valuations.

In Nice, only two auction houses hold a Judicial appointment and are authorized to draw up legally binding estate inventories, valid unless formally challenged in court.

WHAT DO AUCTIONS MEAN TO US?

A passion we live and share with you through our profession.

The professional known as a Judicial Auctioneer is the public and ministerial officer responsible for the expertise, valuation, and judicial public auction of movable tangible property. They are the only professionals specifically trained and legally authorized to perform these duties.
